If You're Going Through Hell…Keep Going

Stress Reduction · September 8, 2018

One of my favorite quotes is from Winston Churchill, which says “if you’re going through hell, keep going.” Often times it can seem like the entire world is looking at your cold sore and judging you for having it.

Have you ever been knocked down so many times in a row by life that you just want to stay down until you get energy back to try again?

Me too!

Life can be difficult enough on its own, but having cold sores randomly breakout on your lip or face can multiply stress and feelings of unworthiness.

In these times, Winston Churchill reminds us to keep going.

I’ll be the first to admit that sometimes life can get exhausting.

Even though I haven’t had a cold sore in over four years, there are still plenty of days where I just want to throw in the towel for a day or a week.

You know…

Where you kick back by yourself and turn your phone off, don’t check your email, don’t have to work, and don’t even have to be a lover.

But even though I long for those “timeouts” sometimes, I rarely get a half day like that, let alone a full day or more.

So the only option is to keep going.

If your current life circumstances feel like you’re going through hell, keep going.

If you’re tired of struggling to survive, keep going.

If you’re stressed beyond belief and don’t know how you’re going to make it, keep going.

You’re going to have ups and downs in life, and dealing with those painful and unsightly cold sores can be one of life’s more difficult obstacles to overcome.

So even if it seems too hard…

Even if the pain feels unbearable…

And even if you’ve lost hope…

Just keep going.

Ask for help and guidance, and do what you can to improve your situation.

I wish you the best on your journey.

Much love to you.
